The task

To elevate the DMB identity with it’s own expanded brand visual language that  is contemporary in its design aesthetic and strongly differentiated from DMB’s parent organisation and more importantly - the competition.

Rationale

For this first direction, we have taken inspiration not only from the copper or aluminium rods themselves,
But also from the means to transport the the finished DMB cables…The drum
The drums represent the finished DMB product. Yet they also the drums indicate that the cables are on their way to their final form. En route to be part of something else.In their drummed up state, the cables represent: Potential

The drummed cables are potential, potential to be part of something bigger, part of something moving forwards to grander state.
The graphic representation:
A simple and elegant expression of a cable spool, with a line (cable) entering and exiting the spool to show movement.
Visual boards

A series of visual expressions using the new elements mixed with colour, fonts, and photography.
A simple graphic and dynamic device used as an overlay, as a highlighter, decorative and informative feature.
Film

Using a match-cut technique to illustrate DMB's role in everyday society.
Applications:
Select examples of the visual language in action.
From website imagery, iconography and informative materials, the drum design works a distinct graphic device.
